The 5 Spiritual Principles of Reiki

Reiki as a spiritual method of healing body, mind and spirit. There are 3 basic parts to a reiki treatment. The first is preparation, the second is the healing and the third is the conclusion.

For each of these parts, you can do a number of different activities during your 45-minute session. One of the most beneficial ways to prepare for a healing session is to recite the 5 Spiritual Principles of Reiki.

These are meant to be lived through our thoughts, words and deeds, not just recited out loud and then forgotten about. By living these principles, you will discover better health, less stress, and a greater sense of connection and harmony with the people around you.

The five principles of reiki is as follow:

Just for today, I will not be angry.
Anger is a very negative energy that harms the body and damages relationships with the people we care about most. Anger distorts energy and create blockages as well. Reiki can help unblock the energy, the ki or chi, to resort health and harmony.

Just for today, I will not worry.
Worry focuses on the future and creates a lot of stress and tension, which will also block energy and distort it. To combat worry, try to keep your energy balanced and spread throughout the body.

Just for today, I will be grateful.
Cultivating an attitude of gratitude stops you from getting angry or worried. Simple things like being thankful and practicing forgiveness boost your energy and open your heart chakra. This in turn brings greater love and harmony,

Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
We are all so distracted, it can be tough to put in a good day’s work. We are all busy, so sometimes we might be tempted to take shortcuts. Working well and being proud of that work creates all new positive energy. Helping others brings abundance to us.

Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.
When we are busy, it’s easy to neglect the people who are most important to us. It’s also easy to get angry when you’re under stress and say or do things you really don’t mean. Keeping a kind intention throughout the day will transform your aura and entire energy field, attracting more of what you wish for, love, harmony and bounty.
